All items on our web
site, with the exception of our Clearance page, include freight in their
price. Most of our items require Large Truck Handling by a Common
Carrier. This includes a curbside delivery to your home. For an
additional fee, the freight company will deliver your item(s) inside
your home, over your primary or only ground level threshold. This
may be considered your garage if your dwelling threshold is accessed
only by use of stairs. If you have stairs that are necessary to climb
in order to access your primary dwelling threshold, and you want the
item(s) brought into your dwelling, please notify Relics at the time of
purchase as this will effect your frieght price. If you live in a
multi unit dwelling, the primarly threshold of the building will be
considered the inside delivery. If you want a full service
delivery including unpacking of the furniture, removal of packing
materials & placement of the furniture, this is considered a White Glove
Delivery. This service can be arranged through Relics, but we must
be notified of this selection at the time of purchase. Some of our
smaller items can be shipped via UPS.
Relics does not profit from the freight process. Our ultimate goal in
this shipping process is to have our items arrive safely to you, their
final destination. Because we will not be with you at your home when
your shipment arrives, we need you, the buyer, to help the receiving
process go as smoothly as possible. When our items are being delivered
to you, we are confident that you will take the care necessary to
receive our items. Without your help, the freight process has the
potential to create a level of dissatisfaction with our products or
service that is unwarranted & unnecessary. We are proud of our furniture
& when the items leave our warehouse, they have been confidently
finished & carefully packaged to ensure a safe arrival to you. With
proper handling by the freight company, a safe arrival will be the end
result.
Please be aware
that it is necessary for you, when you receive our items, to check
each item for Visible and or Concealed Damage.
When the driver
arrives with the items, he most times will allow you to open &
inspect each item for damage. If there is obvious damage to an item,
refuse delivery of that specific item. If the driver does not want
to wait for you to open & inspect the shipment, he is then obligated
to allow you to sign the Delivery Receipt with an exception such as
“Possible Concealed Damage.” If the driver does not want to wait, &
will not allow you to state an exception on the Delivery Receipt,
refuse the entire shipment, and contact Relics. Relics will then
contact a manager with the freight company & make sure that you
receive proper treatment. We will also direct the freight company to
contact you and promptly reschedule the delivery.
All Damaged or
un-inspected items must be signed for as either Damaged or Possible
Concealed Damage. If the furniture, (freight) is damaged but is
signed for as Clear, meaning without stating an exception like
Possible Concealed Damage or Damaged, the receiving party (you),
then assumes full responsibility for the damaged freight & may have
no recourse, legal or financial, with the delivering freight
company, delivery agent, or Relics Furniture.
This would be a
worst case scenario & is completely preventable. If you have
questions about any of our freight rules, please contact us & we
will be happy to fully inform you & instruct you with regard to the
process of receiving our freight.
If
you receive a damaged item & have properly signed for the item as
damaged, we will ship a replacement within 2 weeks, arriving to you
within 1 week after that. Relics will also then handle the entire
claim process for the damaged freight.
Furniture Construction Materials
Our
Furniture is made from Solid Hardwoods & Hardwood Veneers. The
hardwoods are Basswood & Poplar. The veneer is Birch. In general, we
do not use MDF, Chip Board or Particle Board. We do use MDF for the
bead board panel of our #865 Bead Board Crib.
Dimensions listed on line, in our price list & in our catalog
generally assume our items to have 2 inch feet. Some of the
dimensions we list may be inaccurate. Please forgive this oversight.
If you need an item to be a specific size, or need a guarantee on a
size listed, please contact us & we will be happy to verify any
dimension you require.
Lead Time
Lead Time
Because we are a “made to order” company, our standard lead time is
8 - 12 weeks. We can expedite orders if necessary. Cancellation of
an order must be initiated at least 4 weeks prior to it’s estimated
ship date. If a cancellation is requested after that time and the
order has not yet shipped, there will be a 25% restocking charge if
the order has already been begun, or completed. You can return any
Relics item if you wish. If the reason for return is because of
your own personal preference and not because of a manufacturing
defect or damage, your responsibilities will be paying in full for
all shipping charges that accrue in the process of transport to you,
and back to Relics, and any packaging fees necessary to prepare for
both directions of safe transport. In addition, there will be a 25%
restocking fee. We advise, please order wisely and request any
information necessary for your satisfaction, prior to ordering.
If
your order has been completed, but you wish to delay the shipping,
payment on the order will be taken on the day it is completed. Your
order may also be subject to an 8% per month warehousing fee. We
will replace defective merchandise or defective parts at no charge.
Freight Damaged Furniture does not qualify as defective merchandise.
Custom work must be paid for completely when the order is placed.
Placing an order with Relics Furniture acknowledges that you have
read & agree to these terms of business.
